Where To Find The Untamed Fury

The Untamed Fury is a special boss fight; after you take out a small portion of its health bar, it will go to a different location. Do remember the order in which area the boss spawns is completely random for every person. So you will have to explore all the locations to find the boss.

First Untamed Fury

The Untamed Fury can spawn near the start of The Plains. Make your way from the Mystic Gateway towards the area marked on the map where you will see Poison Totems.

Second Untamed Fury

To reach this area, you will need to slide down the rope which leads into The Sinkholes area. There is a spawn location through the right cave entrance from where you land.

Third Untamed Fury

During the Burning Skies Favor, you will come across The Ash Tyrant, who will fly away. Near this area, you will find a Nornir Chestands, the spawn location for The Untamed Fury.

Fourth Untamed Fury

This spawn location is near The Jungle Entrance Mystic Gateway.

The last area where the boss can spawn is in the Untamed Fury’s Den. From The Jungle Mystic Gateway, make your way to the side to find a hole you need to crawl through. This will lead you to the Den, where you will face it for the last time and defeat it.

How To Defeat The Untamed Fury

The Untamed Fury is like any other side boss in the game. Finding this fight easy or hard depends on when you face it. Facing the boss after maxing out your gear and level will make this a breeze. If you are coming earlier, you might need to focus on parrying and dodging most of its attacks.

For Shields, the best options are Dauntless and Stone Wall Shields. If you fight more aggressively and find parrying fun, having the Dauntless Shield is a better option.

Try to parry all the yellow-ringed attacks the boss throws at you. If you time the parry right, you will get enough time to counterattack and deal damage to the boss.

On the other hand, the Stone Wall Shield is for those who want the fight to be less risky. It can block the yellow-ringed attacks, making the fight easier. Be sure to have your finger on the dodge button, as you will need to do that often for the Red Ringed attacks.

One of its attacks is where it takes out its whip and grabs you pulling you under its hooves. You will have to press the prompted buttons to minimize the damage and get back up.

For the Runic Attacks, try to bring ones with high status effects and damage. We suggest the following:

  • Leviathan Axe: Njord’s Tempest and Breath of Thamur
  • Blades of Chaos: Rampage of the Furies and the Neman Crush
  • Draupnir Spear: Stun attacks like Thrust of a Thousand Soldiers and The Finger of Ruin

If you have defeated King Hrolf before this fight, you can use the Hilt of Skofnung Relic for this fight; it deals massive damage. If you do not have that, the other option is the Hilt of Hofud, which you acquire after defeating Heimdall. This relic slows down time, allowing you to chain attacks together and even activate certain skills.

Use your Rage at the most optimal time, giving you an edge over the boss in the fight.

For the Armor Set, you can go for the Dragon Scaled Set; when paired with Stone Wall Shield, it can yield high damage output. However, if you want to reduce incoming damage and increase your resistance, you can equip the Steinbjorn Armor. This Armor heals you after you take damage allowing you to take longer trades with the boss before getting back to heal yourself.

Defeating the boss will get you resources and the Hunter’s Brand, which you need to make Hunter’s Armor set. You will only get two, so you will not be able to make the full Armor. If you want to complete the armor set, you must complete the Favors Nocturnal Predator and In Plain Sight.
