The Vizored are exiled soul reapers with hollow powers who have lived in the world of the living for centuries. Although they are a favorite group in the eyes of fans bleachtheir participation after the Arrancar Saga left them disappointed. Shinji Hirako and his group were considered exciting and interesting fighters, completely separate from the law-abiding members of the Gotei 13. And even though their powers were very bright, it seemed that their place in the the story.
Why are fans disappointed with Hirako and his team? Could the Vizored have done more in the Millennium War? bleach or are they just as good as before?
A Strong Start, The Mysterious Vizored
Aizen's first victims
Shinji Hirako and the others are all senior members of the Gotei 13. Shinji, Kensei, Love, and Rojuro are all captains, while Lisa and Hiyori are lieutenants. Therefore, from the bomb, they are all set to be very powerful. Shinji is the captain of Squad 5, with Sousuke Aizen as his deputy. Meanwhile, Aizen begins the Hollowfication experiment, and Shinji and the others get the worst part of it. Shinji, Love, Kensei, Rojuro, Lisa, Hiyori, Mashiro, and Hachigen are taken by hollowfied Aizen, Kisuke Urahara and Tessai are barely saved. But due to Aizen's scheming, they, along with Urahara, Tessai, and Yoruichi were exiled to Soul Society.
The Vizored lived in the world of the living for a hundred years, waiting for the moment to exact revenge on Aizen. In the meantime, they learn to use these new powers. They were trained to control their Hollow side and use their powers as new possessions. Eventually, they meet Ichigo Kurosaki, a natural-born Vizored, and train him to use his powers like them.
The team started off with a close involvement with Ichigo, giving him the tools to fight Espada and Aizen, and had his own dedicated arc, Turn Back the Pendulum. They are quickly established as powerful and important figures with their own agendas. The Gotei 13 fought Aizen out of duty, Ichigo fought him out of a sense of justice and to protect everyone, but the Vizored had a special reason to kill him. Aizen injures everyone involved, has Kaname Tosen and Gin Ichimaru betray the Gotei 13, kidnaps Orihime Inoue and threatens Karakura Town. But for the Vizored it was another level of betrayal, he ruined their lives.
Vizored is arguably the best reason to defeat Aizen. However, their participation left much to be desired. They battled Aizen with the Gotei, but rarely took part in the battle apart from Shinji. They had barely come to a conclusion about their fight with Aizen. Kaname Tosen had his revenge arc showing his mistakes and how he was harmed, so revenge is not the right path for them. But not showing Aizen's victory over the Vizored seems like an odd time.
Thousand Year Blood War, Vizored's lowest point
It's just a weak captain
It is revealed in the supplementary material that the Central 46 forbade the Vizored from using their Hollow powers after Shinji, Rojuro, and Kensei took their place as captains of the Gotei 13. This explains why the three may have Males had a better chance to fight, but they were not allowed. Kensei and Rojuro fight Sternritter S – Masculine Mask. Both of them used their Bankai against him, but Mask's ability was strong against them. While Bankai made short work of many other enemies, Mask was able to heal from almost any injury thanks to Schrifft: The Superstar.
Kensei and Rojuro are then killed by Gremmy Thoumeaux and turned into Zombies by Giselle Gewelle, making their participation even more humiliating. Shinji Hirako also had a brief moment. He used his Shikai, Sakanade, to stop Sternritter E – Bambietta Basterbine in his tracks. But as soon as Bambietta used the Vollstandich, he defeated him in one blow, so he couldn't do it. In the anime version, Shinji used Bankai: Sakashima Yokoshima Happo Fusagari to dispatch a group of Soldat. While this new show was well received, Shinji used his Bankai to grunt, making his introduction less impressive.
The Vizored were arguably humiliated in the Millennium War, after their previous formation and relationship. The team is very popular with fans. However, Tite Kubo doesn't seem to like them that much. Vizored could have had more things to do, better things to do. But they were just pushed while the rest of the Gotei 13 had an incredible time during the arc. This is why fans are disappointed with the conclusion of Vizored. Hopefully the rest of the anime adaptation will find room to give them something new and exciting that was not in the manga, like Shinji's Bankai.
