The game is looking great on console and PC, and we're already seeing strong demand on the biggest platforms.”

Stuart Canfield, chief financial officer, points to the sale of The Veilguard. “We are very much looking forward to the launch of EA Sports FC 25 next week, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard in October, and both are currently following their respective roles.”


This is not surprising news, as the last game in the series, Dragon Age: Inquisition, is said to be BioWare's best-selling game of all time. In fact, longtime BioWare veteran Mark Darrah recently said that the launch of Inquisition “saved the [financial] quarter” in 2014.

EA's confidence in The Veilguard also comes as the game sees itself as the ultimate target of the online culture war. It's been down since the launch trailer, but it got even worse when the character designer was shown in the preview, revealing the most detailed and integrated customization options in BioWare's game to date.
