Through this interview, Square Enix's upcoming title aims to release on multiple platforms on the same day.
It's not new news that Square Enix is aiming to improve its approach to video game publishing. With the ever-increasing development costs, it is impossible to do something special for a console, and so the company confirmed in May that it has changed its approach.
In a financial release, Square said it will “aggressively pursue its multiplatform strategy,” which includes the likes of Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony. The end result will be “a world where more consumers can enjoy our titles.” And these efforts have been seen since Final Fantasy 14 was released on the last Xbox.
But while those plans are still shaky, one of Square Enix's most respected leaders has some thoughts on how he wants to do things. The legendary Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida stated in a recent interview that the ultimate goal is for everyone to enjoy the game at the same time and on the same day.

I want the friend list to be large and allow us to add people even if they are offline.
The game is for everyone
Speaking to 4Gamer, and as quoted and translated by Eurogamer, Yoshida said that fans of the Square Enix title can expect the following:
“Square Enix titles will be released with each platform.”
“Obviously, we want to play it a lot on other platforms as well,” he said, referring to Fantasian Neo Dimension. This game, in particular, will see a release across all major platforms, including Xbox.
Ideally, future Final Fantasy titles will follow that trend. Because, in fact, Final Fantasy 14 just arrived on Xbox after being on PlayStation for a long time. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy so far has two PS-exclusive titles, with Crisis Core being a multiplatform release. While the third FF7 game will arrive on Xbox day-and-date, the first two will also need to arrive before that, and it remains to be seen when or if that will happen.
All of this is to say that Square Enix has the right idea, but only time will tell if their approach will come to fruition as stated. However, it is good to hear most of its leaders speak out about it.
