Ticketek Australia has confirmed that the personal information of some of its customers may have been exposed in a “cyber incident”.

The ticket company informed the ABC on Friday that the information – including names, dates of birth and email addresses – was stored on a cloud-based platform managed by a “reputable, global third-party provider.”

However, the company stressed that the “cyber incident” did not compromise customer accounts or payment data.

“Since our third-party provider brought this to our attention, we have been working diligently over the past few days to dedicate all resources to the investigation so that we can communicate with potentially affected customers and other stakeholders as quickly as possible,” the company said.

“We have already started notifying potentially affected customers.

“We apologize for any concerns this news may cause. We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.”
