KYIV: Thousands of Ukrainian troops are taking part in an offensive aimed at destabilizing Russia by showing its weakness, a senior Ukrainian official told AFP as the offensive entered its sixth day. “We are on the attack. The goal is to expand the enemy's position, inflict maximum losses and destabilize the situation in Russia because they cannot protect their borders,” the defense official said on condition of anonymity.
