Game Picks 2024-Ryan Bamsey Top 3

Ryan is TheGamer's second guide, so he's used to putting out fires and rallying the troops. It shouldn't come as a surprise, then, that Ryan's list consists thinly of RPGs that see you manage a cadre of demons and gather an army of rebels, but the rest is full of games where you can solve problems of some kind. or else. Collage of Black Myth Wukong, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

Vaspaan is one of TheGamer's most experienced editors, but given his GOTY list, we must say that he is one of the toughest. If the GOTY list is any indication, if he's not shooting something, he's stabbing it. If a word appears on the screen, Vaspaan will do his best to manipulate it. He's a man on the move, and his GOTY list reflects that. In the end, that's why the list to turn to if you value games that raise that adrenaline and take your worries away.

    Game Editor's Choice, 2024 – Vaspaan Dastoor

  • Zoë J. Osik, Staff Writer

Game of the Year collage featuring Dungeons of Hinterberg, The Veilguard, and Astro Bot.

Zoë is one of TheGamer's busiest staff writers. Considering the amount of work he produces, I suppose it should come as no surprise that the games he draws from are fun as hell. I suspect we won't see a list this year that does a better job of showcasing the list of great games that were released this year. The level of classification makes this GOTY list a must-read – especially if you're looking for a game recommendation that will make you all warm and fuzzy inside.

  • Gabrielle Castania, Staff Writer

Gabrielle Castania's picks for Game of the Year include Police Chicken in the Hive, Daisy and Waluigi from Super Mario Party Jamboree, and Ghost Dog from Animal Well.

Gabrielle is a respected staff writer with a penchant for fun games and narrative-driven titles. However, this year Gabrielle is more focused on massaging her brain, as almost all of her posts have a puzzle-solving element. Even his entry in Metroidvania was basically just a puzzle game. However, a Mario Party game also made the list, so the next puzzle he may need to solve is the mystery of a broken friendship. Give her GOTY list a read DIFFERENT to receive the best games to be released in 2024.

    Game Editor's Choice, 2024 – Gabrielle Castania

  • Santi Leguiza, editor

There's turn-based entry, action entry, hybrids, hack 'n' slash, MMOs… it's a cornucopia of RPGs! You'll notice that many of our staff have full RPG lists – it's only one of those years – but I doubt there will be the kind of diversity that Santi does.

  • Trevor Ford, Manage Social Media

    2-Game-Trevor Ford 2024 Top 3 Option

Trevor is TheGamer's social media guy, and you only have to look at the GOTY list to see that it's a job he was born to do. Most of Trevor's games have a social element in one form or another. If he is not colonizing planets with his friends, he is relaxing with them in fictional offices, or hunting mythical animals with his pawns. It is one of those single player games that break bonds and friendships. This focus on community gives GOTY its identity and makes it essential reading. See, we're not EVERYTHING anti-social goblin!
