GSC Game World continues to release new updates for its first-person horror, survival shooter, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The latest patch arrives just in time for the holiday weekend, making many improvements STALKER 2 just one day after the popular title received its biggest update to date.
On December 19th, publisher and developer GSC Game World released a series of great content STALKER 2 update that included over 1,800 bug fixes, changes and quality of life improvements. Various fixes were made in patch 1.1, including adjustments to NPC spawns, AI improvements, balance, optimization improvements, and more. The studio then went on to release another patch on the same day, with the 1.1.1 update correcting a few issues that caused PC users to crash when launching the game's 1.1 update.

GSC announces update for classic STALKER game
In the midst of the great success of STALKER 2, GSC Game World announces a new update for the classic trilogy of STALKER games released 15 years ago.
After these two updates, we released another patch update for GSC Game World STALKER 2. According to the official patch notes, which can be found further down in this article, update 1.1.2 addresses some of the most recent issues in the game reported by the community. Some users have reported that shader compilation is stuck, leading to infinite wait times or crashes. Fortunately, this issue has been resolved, as well as issues that caused some to crash when exiting the game and for others unable to load save files.
The latest update also includes major new features for STALKER 2 player that allows users to restore saved files and prevent data loss. In the official patch notes, GSC Game World states that saves will be automatically saved and last for 4 days before being deleted. Sadly, this new feature appears to be PC-only, with no word on whether or not Xbox Series X/S owners can look forward to saving backups in the future.
All of these massive updates and improvements over the past few days are sure to make fans happy, especially if they're paying attention STALKER 2 had many launch issues with various bugs and glitches. Although many patches are needed to make the game better, it doesn't seem to have stopped STALKER 2 from the huge success for GSC Game World. The much-anticipated sequel is already turning a profit for the studio, just a month after its release. GSC Game World announced this earlier STALKER 2 it has sold over 1 million units in just 48 hours.
