Some of the top PlatinumGames Devs may have left the Studio

There are suggestions that many developers and senior staff have left recently PlatinumGames. PlatinumGames is a famous studio of action games. The latest game from the studio is Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demonwhich was released in 2023.




Many gamers were shocked when, at the end of 2023, Hideki Kamiya announced his departure from PlatinumGames after a 15-year tenure. Kamiya was one of the founders of the studio, along with Shinji Mikami, Atsushi Inaba, and Tatsuya Minami. It looks like Hideki Kamiya isn't the only one leaving Platinum Games, as more developers have left the company in the past month.

Okami Sequel In Development With Hideki Kamiya and Studio Clover Revived

In one of the most shocking announcements of The Game Awards 2024, Okami is getting a sequel by the revived Clover Studio.

As explained by PlatinumGamesFanboy on the r/PlatinumGamesInc subreddit, many of the studio's veterans have made some changes to their social media profiles. Kenji Saito, Takahisa Taura, Masaki Yamanaka, and Abebe Tinari took down the PlatinumGames thread on Twitter. Saito, in particular, had “PlatinumGames” set as his location, but it is now left blank. Abebe Tinari, director Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demonrecently confirmed that he has left Japan for good.

All of these employees have worked on PlatinumGames' most popular titles. Saito is the director Metal Gear Rising: Revenge SY Transformers: DestructionTaura is the director of 2019's Astral Chainand Yamanaka is creator and director Anarchy reigns. Former PlatinumGames employee JP Kellams recently commented on the situation on Twitter, noting that “sometimes Platinum loses its luster,” and that many of the people he worked with may not work in the studio anymore. There has been no official confirmation of these departures at this time, so it is only speculation and rumours.


Kamiya explained that he left PlatinumGames because he felt the company was going in a different direction than his vision as a developer. After leaving the PlatinumGames and a year away from working on a new title, Kamiya recently announced Clovers, a new studio under Capcom. Kamiya's first new post-Platinum project was also announced at The Game Awards 2024, the long-awaited sequel. Okaywith former members of Clover Studio to make it happen as well.
