“Hey! Listen!” How many times have you been annoyed by that screeching sound while trying to solve a puzzle in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time? Even though Navi was just trying to help, she only ended up annoying the player with her voice and unsolicited advice. It's amazing how Link got his adventure after waking up to that voice.

Grow up and learn to love the parts of the game that push you
The dungeon, which haunted me in Ocarina of Time, is my favorite part of Echoes of Wisdom.
Everyone who played the game, both when it launched in 1998 and after, wished there was a way to silence it. Looks like we're not the only ones. Although Navi was created as a way to help players and give suggestions, it turns out that even the devs at Nintendo, including the legendary creator of The Legend of Zelda and Mario , Shigeri Miyamoto.
Shigeru Miyamoto doesn't like Navi too much either
In an old interview that was translated into recent shmuplations, Miyamoto admitted that while Navi was useful, he thought the whole system was a weak point in Ocarina of Time (thanks, GamesRadar).
I think the way we give feedback is still not very friendly,” he said in the original interview in 1999. “To be clear, I can confess to you now: I think the system together with Navi gives you advice. is the biggest weak point of Ocarina of Time. It is very difficult to develop a system that gives the right advice, advice that suits the situation of the player.
“To do it well, you have to spend the same amount of time as creating a whole game, and I was really worried that we would dig ourselves into a hole, if we were looking for perfection there…”
He went on to say that Navi will repeat the same thing over and over again, which both devs and players find very annoying. They must have deliberately made the angel “foolish”, as if to make him more sophisticated, to stand out.
“The truth is, I'd like to get rid of the whole system, but it's still not more player-friendly,” he admitted. “You can think of Navi as going to players who have been away for a month or so, who are replaying the game and want to remember what they're supposed to do. It's a lame excuse, I know.”
