Roosters hooker Brandon Smith has reportedly received a warning after failing to attend his team’s half-season review.

Following the club’s loss to the Cowboys in Round 13, Trent Robinson held a series of meetings on Monday to review the Roosters’ season so far.

According to SMH, Smith failed to attend review meetings and has since received a notice of breach of contract from Tricolours decision-makers.

His future with the club is now reportedly uncertain and it remains unclear whether he will be named for the Roosters’ Round 15 clash with the Eels after they had a bye in Round 14.

According to a source, Smith was unaware of the scheduled review meetings and club representatives reportedly attempted to contact him.

However, Smith claimed he did not have his phone handy and said: “It was a mistake on my part.”

“I was traveling with my family and didn’t realize it was happening. I take responsibility for that,” he said.

Smith’s manager Stan Martin told The Daily Telegraph that the star had overslept.

Smith himself said he was “out having breakfast with my partner” and “left my phone at home because we don’t usually train the next day after a game.”

“After a recent loss, he was late for a meeting,” Martin said.

“The coach was angry. Brandon was the only one who was late.

“He overslept and arrived late. I spoke to the club. It’s not a major violation.”

This comes as Roosters decision-makers are reportedly unhappy with Smith’s conduct and his future at the club is in question.

But Martin hit back at these claims.

“I’m not sure his future is in question,” Martin said. “We’ll see what the future holds.”

“He really wants to keep going and finish the season well.”

Meanwhile, pressure is reportedly growing on Robinson to keep Smith after exercising an option for the 2025 season worth around $850,000 in his favor.

Smith’s start with the Roosters was slow, with a finger injury hampering him in 2023 before he finished this season strongly.
