Macron tells Netanyahu to ‘avoid cycle of reprisals’

PARIS: French President Emmanuel Macron told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday to “stop the cycle of revenge” in the Middle East, his office said, as fears of a regional war grow. After earlier telling his Iranian ally to “stop the cycle of retaliation that could endanger the population and the stability of the region,” Netanyahu urged in a phone call Macron to accept this idea, the French president said in a statement.
