Kylie Minogue signs huge deal with Netflix for tell-all documentary

Kylie Minogue has signed a seven-figure deal to film a Netflix documentary in which she appears as a cameraman.

The Australian pop legend has enjoyed huge global success over the past year and recently sparked a bidding war with the streaming giants.

According to The Mirror, Netflix bosses were ultimately able to prevail over their competitors Apple+ and Disney and secure the rights to Minogue’s life story, which is set to be made into a film later this year.

A source said: “There was a serious bidding war for it. Kylie has had an incredible life, from starring in Neighbours to becoming a pop icon and still dominating the charts decades later. She has a huge fan base so there’s no doubt she’ll attract a huge audience with this. That’s why the bidding was so high – everyone is very excited.”

Minogue’s wild career comeback surprised her last year after the huge success of Padam Padam.

After the song shot to the top of the charts, the Australian icon embarked on a hugely successful Las Vegas residency that ended last month.

However, due to its success, she reportedly received an open invitation to return.

Earlier this year, she celebrated her victory at the Grammy Awards after winning the award for Best Pop Dance Recording 2024 for her electro-pop hit. Padam Padam – her first win in 20 years. She previously won the award for Best Dance Recording in 2004 for her hit Come into my world.

Her victory was announced ahead of the televised ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena while she was getting ready for the red carpet in her hotel room.

In a victory video posted on social media, the singer was seen being called a “two-time Grammy winner” by someone as she lay on the floor, screaming and dancing around in her bathrobe. Minogue was also named a Global Icon at the BRIT Awards earlier this month, where she was recognised as a “master of musical reinvention” for her 36 years – and counting – of music.

Last year, Minogue performed a sold-out show at London’s Royal Albert Hall and Seven bought the rights to broadcast the special on Channel 7 and 7plus earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Minogue is reportedly working hard on the follow-up to her last album, and rumors suggest the album could be released later this year.
