Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Sukuna's Return Makes Sense

Sukuna can return to JJK if the series gets a sequel.

In general, The JJK the ending was rushed, and most of the players didn't get a satisfying ending, even if their conclusion was good. However, the author did what he could, especially when he was suffering from many illnesses. On top of that, some players certainly enjoyed the fitting ending, while others raised their eyebrows. Among the remaining ambiguous endings, Kenjaku certainly takes the top spot and even though fans saw that he died in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, there is one character that is similar to him that his face was never shown to the reader. This character could be Kenjaku or, possibly, even Geto.

  • Todo and Yuta team up to kill Kenjaku
  • Yuta took over Kenjaku's technique

In the Shinjuku Showdown Arc of JJKKenjaku was one of the main antagonists of the series, and fans hoped that he would have a big fight in the series, or, at least, be as important as Sukuna in the final arc. Unfortunately, the writers didn't have the time or resources to give Kenjaku the attention he deserved, which left him marginalized and dismissed in a very embarrassing way. In fact, Kenjaku's ending was such that most fans refused to believe that it was real, and a large part believed that he would return in the next path.

My will will be my legacy!! – Kenjaku

Basically, Kenjaku is taken out by Yuta's sneak attack. For a major opponent to go out like this is a real shame. Yuta, with Todo's help, was able to jump on him, and immediately cut off his head. Yuta was immediately able to inject his brain with cursed energy, which prevented him from using cursed energy or even trying to heal himself. He also manages to absorb her through Rika and obtains the cursed technique, which he later uses in the battle against Sukuna in Shinjuku. Although the ending was disappointing, the fans knew that his will would be granted and eventually came in the form of him passing on the key to Sukuna's union. Unfortunately, this is another point that fans have missed out on, since the reunion never really happened in the first place.

Of course, Kenjaku met a disappointing end that no fan really wanted to accept, but, at the time, it was something he had to deal with. That said, fans got a glimpse of Kenjaku and they may have gotten something to hold onto, as the series ended with the appearance of a similar character. Or, to be more specific, this character looks like Suguru Geto.

How Gege teased Kenjaku's return to Jujutsu Kaisen

A person with a Ghetto Body is alive and well

In the last chapter of JJKit was announced that Takaba was alive. A large part of the fans believed that Takaba was dead, but like many others who apparently died in the fight, Takaba came back. He was seen planning his next job with a mystery person whose face has not been revealed. But fans didn't need to look at this person's face to really see who this person was. Unsurprisingly, this figure is only one person, and that person is none other than Suguru Geto. Somehow Geto returned, but it was probably Kenjaku in Geto's body, or Kenjaku as Takaba knew him.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo Satoru's Final Fate, Explained

Gojo was originally killed in JJK's Shinjuku Showdown arc. The ending left fans sad.

It was clear to the fans that even this person's personality matched the Kenjaku that Takaba performed during his fight. Of course, this is someone Takaba knows and likes to play with. Takaba finally has his friend back, and, while fans were hoping for that person's face to show up at some point in the chapter, or later, he didn't see a single one. those. The author carefully placed the dialogue boxes on the face of this character, but the hairstyle and his build confirmed that this person held the body of Suguru Geto, with the mind of Kenjaku.

The answer to who that person is may not be as difficult as people think. Of course, it could be Kenjaku or Geto. But, fans have seen Kenjaku die with their own eyes, which raises the question of how he can get back to square one.

Will fans see the return of Kenjaku?

Takaba's cursed technique makes everything possible

The answer to the question of who this person really is lies with the fans. Fans know that Takaba's technique as a comedian allows him to turn things that he thinks are funny into reality. After the death of his friend, about which he created a whole drama, he probably used his skill to restore this person who had wasted so much time. Of course, this really means that this person's body is not Geto's, but the mind may be the same as Kenjaku's. This does not mean that Kenjaku is alive. While it's certainly possible, the most likely answer here is that this person has the same body as Geto, and the same mind as the Kenjaku that Takaba knew, but not one of those people.

A technique that can compete with even Gojo Satoru!! – Narrator

This person is likely a mixture of the two, with a unique personality. On the other hand, it could be the writer's way of reintroducing Suguru Geto into the plot, at least in terms of form. Kenjaku always wanted a partner and he finally found one in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. This partner will probably stay with him for a long time, and, while there is a possibility that Kenjaku or Geto are real, it is unlikely to be either of them. Fans may not get to see who this person really is, and the writers will likely keep him with Takaba for the foreseeable future, participating in various games, among other things. .

Comedian, talent Fumihiko Takaba

Of course, there could be more depth to this, and fans may later find out that Kenjaku is alive, which could also lay the groundwork for a sequel series. However, at this point it is unlikely as Gege seems to have no plans to continue JJK. In reality, Kenjaku is dead, and so is Geto. But, a person with the same body as Geto and presumably Kenjaku's mind because of Takaba's technique.

The final chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, JJK 271, was published on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
