Long before UniVersus was UniVersus, the All-War System. A trading card game to play all kinds of possessions, celebrations, and inspired by war games, with a single player using attacks and blocks to deal damage.
While recently UniVersus has leaned more towards anime, manga, and even Critical Role, the latest takes it back to its fighting roots. Tekken 8 is one of the best games of this year, and now it comes to UniVersus with two Clash decks based on mother and son Jun and Jin Kazama. Take a look at some of the cards you'll be able to play when both sides kick off on October 24th.
Jin Clash Deck
Just like Jin's long combos in the game, his deck is all about collecting a huge pool of cards to boost your attack power. Cards like Black Out and Breaking Step boost your attacks based on your deck, while others like Over The Shoulder Reverse can reverse your main deck to slow your opponent down.
Of course, the deck needs a way to build it up as well, where things like Jin's Karate Training can bring extra cards into your hand.
Another interesting strategy in this deck is setting up a single attack to deal massive damage. There are a lot of cards that will attack if this turn is maxed out, like Switch Blade, or those that need you to already deal damage, like Ki-Charged Strike. You still need a large card pool to fully pay these off, but now the onus is on one attack that does the job, not a long chain.

June Clash Deck
Jun's Clash deck plays a big role for UniVersus, as it gives him the command and good markup of the much-needed burn and kick tools that he hasn't seen in a while. Between cards like Ayame, Izumo, and Tsukuyomi for their own attacks, and fans like Kazama-Style Traditional Art Arts and A Kazama's Power, these characters should enjoy many new tools.
In UniVersus, your deck is built around a character, and you can use cards as long as you share at least one symbol with them. So Jun decks have cards that can be used for Water, Order, or Good, while Jin can be used for Chaos, Good, or Evil.
Certain cards will punish your opponent for having a large card pool, acting as a foil for Jin. Take Ayame, which has a small effect of drawing cards for you if your opponent has something in the pool. Not much, but the advantage of the card is everything.
At the same time, Tsukuyomi's special adds to the power through the massive attack that you spend a lot of resources on, by turning it into a Throw if your opponent has a card down in the pool. Throws deal half their damage even if they are blocked, so by making it big you can give a decent wallop that your opponent can't.
