Israel ordered to halt Rafah offensive

Israel has been ordered to halt its military offensive of Gaza against the city of Rafah. Teh ruling by the United Nations’ International Court of Justice cites the “immediate risk” to the Palestinian population in the city which is adjacent to the Egyptian border.

Around 40,000 Palestinian have died in the Israel-Gaza war which was sparked by Hamas’ killing of more than a thousands people in Israel on October 7 and the kidnapping of hundreds more.
