DUBAI: The picturesque city of Aix-les-Bains is poised to host a historic event as France holds its first camel race with international participants during the 2024 Paris Olympics, though not linked to The event is even a summer game.

This huge event, held on August 4 and featuring jockeys from the Arab Desert Camel Riding Center in Dubai, will feature two 300 meter races.

This event aims to expand the appeal of camel sport in Europe, introducing new audiences to the excitement and cultural value of this traditional sport. The race coincides with the Olympic Games in France, adding to the country's many different disciplines and athletes.

“Although we have hosted camel races in France for many years now, we are very excited to compete with jockeys from Dubai. It makes the event more interesting from a global perspective,” said event organizer Olivier Philippaneau.

“This event represents a new chapter in the world's camel racing competition, and we are honored to be involved with top international teams such as the ADCRC from Dubai. Their participation highlights the growing interest and commitment to camel sport worldwide.”

French expatriate Coralie Viroulaud, who found her love for camel racing in Dubai, expressed her excitement at the sport being recognized in her home country, while Isabella Leslie, another competitor in Dubai, said he is excited to compete in France and witness the sporting events. The audience is growing, fueled by his new endorsement of American businessman and racehorse owner Mike Repole.

Born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, Jennifer Reggio also said she hopes to share her love and passion for camel racing with an international audience in France.

Not only the champion camel racers from Dubai will attend these races but also Prince Fahd bin Jalawi from the International Camel Racing Federation.
