It's amazing to think this time last year we didn't even know there was an Astro Bot game just a few months ago. Fast forward 12 months and Astro Bot is not only here, but has won more game of the year awards than any other platformer. PlayStation continues to celebrate the success of gaming in 2025 and has released customizable paper figures that you can download and print for free.
PlayStation wished Astro Bot fans a Happy New Year earlier this week by releasing a short stop-motion video where papercraft bots say holiday messages. To further celebrate Astro's success and the start of the new year, PlayStation has made two of the paper stars from the video a free PDF for everyone to download, print and draw the figures.

Astro is one of two characters from the video that can be used, and the second is Pipo Monkey from Ape Escape who can be seen jumping on the screen at various times during the show. The files you need to print to get started with your Astro and Ape Escape figures can be found on PlayStation's Astro Bot store page, but you can find them by clicking here for Astro, and here for Ape Escape Pipo Monkey.

PlayStation asked those who build their own notebooks to share their answers, and quite a few of you have already done so. The most popular option is to install the paper Astro with the corresponding DualSense. Those who like to stop may want to use the figures to create the Ape Escape level of Astro Bot. The first of many themed game levels after the PlayStation series, and arguably the best, though it still loses out to God of War levels in my personal ranking.
Astro Bot's future is unclear at the moment, but judging by the critical acclaim and 104 GOTY awards, it seems certain that we will eventually see the PlayStation mascot again. You might think that a new Ape Escape game is unlikely since it's been 20 years since the last game in the main series. However, rumors are swirling that PlayStation is looking to revive a smaller IP, and Ape Escape certainly fits that description.
