Ex-husband reveals viral mum’s dark past

A 29-year-old mother who came to prominence with a viral TikTok about the struggles of single mothers has hit back at her ex in a heated exchange.

Elizabeth Teckenbrock’s original TikTok showed her sobbing while baking her own birthday cake so her kids could sing her Happy Birthday.

The heartbreaking video touched viewers and quickly went viral.

“Being a single mom means baking her own birthday cake on her birthday so her babies will be happy singing to her,” Teckenbrock said.

But Ms. Teckenbrock’s 37-year-old ex-husband, Andrew Cormier, stated that he had sole custody of their children, painting a very different picture of their lives.

He also claimed that she hardly sees the couple’s children because she often goes out and parties.

In his opinion, Ms. Teckenbrock’s social media followers are being misled.

“Right now, I have sole custody of our children. That is our parenting agreement. As you can see, I have all the weekdays and weekends and share time with the children during school holidays,” Mr Cormier said.

“The people who follow her praise her and tell her how strong she is and how incredible she is. She’s doing well, she’s not a full-time mom. She barely has any kids. She’s on the go all the time.”

The drama escalated when Ms. Teckenbrock accused Mr. Cormier of denying her contact with their children on her birthday after she had attended a dinner with friends.

“He said, ‘No, you decided to go to dinner, you won’t see her on your birthday.'”

The young mother rejected Mr Cormier’s allegations and said she was “a good mother”.

“I can proudly say without a doubt that I know who I am. I know that I am a good mother and that I love my children,” Ms. Teckenbrock said in a follow-up video.

She admitted to past mistakes, including an arrest for fraud, which was confirmed by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

“Yes, I have made mistakes in my life. I was arrested, I have not denied that in the slightest,” she said.

Ms. Teckenbrock explained in more detail the circumstances of her arrest, which she said took place during a turbulent period following the divorce.

“I went through some pretty bad mental health issues when I was about a year away from my divorce. And then when I left, it was even worse. I was on the road all the time and made a lot of mistakes,” she said.

“He was never talked about on my entire page. I never wanted to put him down, no matter how much it hurt me, but last week I got to the point where I had no choice but to defend myself.”

In an emotional interview with NewsweekMrs Teckenbrock announced that it was her first birthday that she spent alone and away from her family.

“I was so excited at the time. To be honest, I don’t like cake. It was all for her,” she said.
