Ioi Overview and Attack Pattern
Even though Ioi has met all the bosses in Ys X: Nordics, he will still feel like one of the a most fearsome enemy because of his huge body and loud roar. To complement his massiveness, Ioi has a pool of over 17,000 HP that you must take down. However, the worst part is that his health bar regenerates twice during the fight after the first removal.
With 75 power and 82 defense, this boss can be easily defeated walk all over you if you don't understand how to attack. This is especially true because your character will be weak when you fight him:
Name of the attack |
Description |
---|---|
Claw Attack |
You will often see Ioi crouching on the ground and moving her claws in an arc-shaped path. that's it the attack is far away from his bodyand you will automatically leave if you stay near the attack. |
Leg Stomp |
With Ioi's height compared to Adol and Karja, it's a wonder he doesn't try to step on them. This boss usually lifts his feet in the air before stomping on the ground, and that is the best attack to build the revenge. Because of its predictable nature, you can simply do it press the parry button as soon as the foot starts to return to the ground and get a high multiplier on duo skill damage. |
Red attack |
You will most likely see this attack from the boss when you clear his first health bar. Inside, you will see a red light around your boss's body seconds before throwing his whole body to the ground. This attack does a lot of damage, so you can juice itt run away from the boss to get away that is if you don't trust yourself to parry time. |
Blue attack |
This is another attack that is often seen after the boss's first durability bar runs out, and you can easily avoid it. press the dash button as soon as you see the blue wave come to your character. It becomes easier to avoid if your character is distant from the boss. |
Rush attack |
The final attack you will sometimes see from the boss is which runs a little and then hits the wind or the ground depending on where you live. |
During the final phase (after the boss resets his duration a second time), he will start using all these attacks one by one.
How to beat Ioi
Now that you understand how to avoid all of the boss Ioi's attacks, the next step is to figure out the best way to defeat him. Since this battle is so early in the game, it's pretty good recommended to store some health potions and eat one of the lunch boxes that can provide you with the battle as soon as it starts.
This can have a big impact during the first phase. Something else you want to use regularly is the Double Smash duo skill. If you look at the description of this skill, you'll notice that it has three and a half bars of Break damage, which is impressive for breaking through Ioi's durability bar.
If the durable bar is already broken, you can use the Cross Edge skill instead to deal higher damage.
Both abilities get a huge boost with the Revenge multiplier, which is also easy to fix for this boss due to his foot being stepped on. Once you master these two skills, you can easily beat this boss without losing any health.
