Donald Trump goes rogue at UFC 302 as America melts down

Donald Trump sparked “crazy” scenes with his dramatic appearance at UFC 302 on Sunday.

The convicted felon was the star of the star-studded UFC event when he took the stage in front of over 15,000 fans at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey.

The former US president received a standing ovation and chants from fans could be heard on the television broadcast as he made his way to his seat in front of the Octagon.

Only 48 hours earlier, the 77-year-old had been found guilty on all 34 counts in the New York hush money trial.

The verdict is scheduled for July 11, four days before the Republican convention at which the party will officially nominate him for president.

He faces at least a suspended sentence and a maximum of four years in prison.

Despite all this, Trump seemed more popular than ever during his appearance in front of screaming fans.

As he walked alongside UFC boss Dana White, Trump shook hands with spectators and posed for photos.

He also shook hands with ESPN MMA commentator Joe Rogan during the live TV broadcast.

According to videos shared on social media, Trump received thunderous applause as he left the hall.

Fans could be heard chanting “Fuck Joe Biden” and also “We want Trump.”

Rogan said the crowd went “crazy” when Trump showed up.

Trump also received support behind the scenes when he met with former world champion Sean Strickland and light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira of Brazil.

Trump has previously been a popular guest at the UFC as MVP, with White repeatedly pledging his support to the ousted president. The two have been friends for more than 20 years.

In March, the former president sat in the cage with his eldest daughter Ivanka at UFC 299 in Florida.

The New York Post reports that his appearance in Newark was his first public appearance since he declared, “We will fight,” during a heated press conference in the atrium of Trump Tower in New York.

Trump announced that he would appeal his conviction. He said he was “honored” by the legal battle and that “we are fighting for our Constitution.”

Trump made brief comments to the media outside the courthouse on Friday, claiming the trial was “rigged” and a “disgrace.”

“This was a rigged trial led by a corrupt and biased judge,” he said.

“The real verdict will be made by the people on November 5, and the people know what happened here, and everyone knows what happened here.”

He insisted that “we did nothing wrong.”

“I am a very innocent man and that’s fine, I fight for our country, I fight for our Constitution,” he said.

“The Biden administration did this to hurt or harm an opponent, a political opponent, and I think it’s just a disgrace, and we’re going to keep fighting. We’re going to fight to the end and we’re going to win.”

Trump said the country had “gone to hell.”

“We are no longer the same country,” he said.

“We have a divided mess. We are a nation in decline, in serious decline. Millions and millions of people are pouring into our country right now from prisons and mental institutions, terrorists. They are taking over our country. We have a country that is in deep trouble. But this was a rigged decision, from day one, with a judge who had a conflict of interest and should never have tried this case. Never. And we will fight for our Constitution. This is far from over. Thank you very much.”

The spotlight on the UFC 302 card will be the showdown between lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier.
