Danika Mason mortified as Andrew Johns spills her ‘major’ injury secret on NRL TV

Andrew Johns has completely ripped off Channel 9 star Danika Mason with a live TV revelation about her “serious injury”.

The popular presenter was mortified when Johns ambushed her and shared photos of her dental emergency on Thursday.

The immortal rugby legend grinned like a naughty schoolboy as he cleverly steered the post-match discussion from a state-of-origin topic to photos of Mason showing off her broken front tooth.

Mason laughed his head off when the Newcastle Knights legend pointed out her resemblance to Jim Carey’s iconic Lloyd Christmas character from the Hollywood comedy Dumb and Dumber.

“That’s not the only injury news. There’s another serious injury today,” Johns said from the Eels dressing room after the club’s surprise win over Cronulla.

“We have Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber. Can we look at someone’s tooth that broke today?”

This is how the discussion went:

You can watch the compilation in the video player above

Danika Mason: This is my tooth.

Andrew Johns: How did you do that?

DM: I open a bag of chips with my mouth, a bag of corn chips.

AJ: Wait, wait, wait. I open a bag of chips. What happened?

DM: I used my hands, but it wouldn’t open. Then I used my mouth, and my tooth was thrown out in the car, so I had to go to the emergency dentist today.

AJ: Children at home don’t listen to Aunt Danika. Use your hands. Don’t be impatient.

DM: Luckily I had a good dentist who was able to give me an appointment at 11am.

AJ: Go on, say his name. Get something for free.

DM: I actually have to go back. If anyone has a good dentist, let me know.

AJ: What about the dentist from Channel 9? We all have these false teeth. You should have seen my Bake Bean teeth before I got them done.

Channel 9 presenter James Bracey then entered the show from a studio on site, flashing his pearly white teeth.

Johns couldn’t resist the temptation to dig again.

“The children at home look at James Bracey’s teeth. Ten elephants had to die for that,” says Johns, laughing.

Bracey replied, “Lloyd Christmas’ long lost sister. That’s good stuff.”

“Well done. Glad you’re okay. Good luck with whatever they have to do with it next.”

Fortunately for Parramatta, the injury news from the field was mostly positive, with star halfback Mitchell Moses blowing the Sharks away in his return from injury.

With Moses back in the team, the Eels earned a much-needed 34-22 victory.
