Burger King is looking for a Whopper-o-logist to determine the quality of burgers at many BK restaurants. While this may seem like the perfect job for some, there are a number of catches that job hopefuls should be aware of.
It's an exciting time to be a fan of the American fast food chain, with some chains like McDonald's offering. Pokemon TCG Happy Meals and KFC are opening a new restaurant called Saucy. BK has not gone away from the trend, and now it is doing something that can draw attention to the chain.

A new job listing for Burger King Whopper-o-logist has been posted. The job listing says it's looking for someone who has an interest in food and can evaluate the quality of the popular Whopper burger at many restaurants. Burger King says it is looking for people who can not only consider the taste, but also the skill and quality of the ingredients that go into their food. It's an interesting place that has a little resemblance to that of the mystery shopper who is responsible for evaluating the performance of the store by going there and acting like a normal customer. However, while burger fans may be interested in this role, there is a catch.
Burger King Whopper-o-logist Role is Limited
To begin with, interested applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to work in Auckland City, New Zealand. Applicants should have strong communication skills and be able to provide character and professional references for their application. However, the most important detail to note is near the end of the job application, where the Whopper-o-logist job listing indicates it's a two-day contract, starting February 24th. Applications are accepted until January 31st.
One might wonder what this place is up to, because it seems odd to hire someone to try Whoppers for two days. The list is part of an event in New Zealand called Job Hunt January, “the brainchild of Trade Me Jobs and a few brands in New Zealand that highlight 'life at work.' The same campaign was carried out in 2024, which offered a similar role as a KFC Wicked Wing taste tester. The role is also short, but there are almost 1,000 candidates and the post has been viewed more than 70,000 times. Although far from a full-time position, this new Burger King position can be a great way to pass the time, gain some experience and add an unusual role to your CV.
