All Animal Companions (& How to Unlock, Upgrade, & Use Them)

As Melinoe fights his way to the Underworld Hades 2will find several animal friends who can help him defeat the Titan of time and save his family. These animals can fight alongside him in battle, farm better equipment, and provide passive buffs to Melinoe himself.

However, Melinoe can only carry what he is familiar with during each trip across the land or underground. The player must choose his favorite friends wisely and know which one is the best to compliment his current home or which one will help him collect essential tools.

A few steps to complete first

Melinoë must cast an Incantation on the Cauldron at the Crossroads to unlock the familiar. Basically, players need to Belief in the common Spirit. To unlock this incantation, the player must prioritize each collectible and use it at least twice. After this, Melinoe must defeat Hecate. If done correctly, Hecate will have a pre-battle dialogue with Melinoe about the familiar.

After returning to the Crossroads, contact the pot to find the spell. To correct this spell, Melinoe is needed 2x nectar SY 1x Lotus Flower. To find Nectar, search rooms with Nectar symbols on them, or buy 50 bones from the Wretched Broker. Lotus flowers can be found in various rooms throughout Oceanus. After casting Belief in the common SpiritMelinoe will gain 1 Witch's Delight. Feed this food to an animal, and they will join Melinoe in future races as normal.

In Hades 2, Players have 4 animal companions to choose from – Frinos, Toula, Raki, and Hecuba. Each one represents a different tool that Melinoe can collect during his journey underground or on the Surface. As a result, choosing the best familiar to go with a particular device will not only increase the probability that that device will appear, but also increase the probability that that device will appear. avoiding the need to play a minigame to collect that gear. For example, Toula makes fishing easier and more visible. If Melinoe is fishing while Toula is with him, Toula will automatically catch the fish instead of the player going through the mini-game.

Frinos The Frog

Frinos can be found near Melinoe's tent. Not only can it increase Melinoe's maximum HP, but it can also be used to block projectiles. This is useful for Hecate because Frinos can consume the polymorphing curse.

Toula The cat

After casting the Woodsy Lifespring Incantation, Melinoe will meet Toula in the spring room of Erebus. After interacting with him, Toula will disappear from Erebus and reappear later on the Surface.

Start the race on land, defeat Polyphemus in Ephyra, and go to the Pier area. Before jumping to the exit, keep an eye out for the Toula on the far left side of the pier. Give him a witch's pleasure and he will join Melinoe as usual.

Raki The Raven

Raki is found in the Crossroads resource room. Pass the fountain, and there will be a white crow on the left of the path before the exit. The first time Melinoe talks to Raki, Raki will disappear.

After that race, jump to another Underworld race until Melinoe arrives fountain chamber in Erebus with Raki in it. Raki will disappear again after Melinoe interacts with him. In the next Underworld run, find the source room in Erebus again, and Raki will have the option to contact Melinoe. Give the cute white crow a Witch's Delight, and it will join Melinoe as usual.

Hecuba The Hound

Bigger magic pools and more digging for seeds

To find Hecuba, go to the Underworld and I see an Echo in the field of mourning. Follow the path to the exit, and Hecuba will be waiting near the exit door every now and then. Be careful not to miss the cute dog – his black hair blends in with the ground.

Talk to Hecuba and she will disappear. Repeat this process and increase the other familiars in the Crossroads until Hecate gets her head marked. Talk to the titaness, she will allow the reception of her lovers – Hecuba and Gale – through “Shared Familiar Bonds” permission.

Jump into another Underworld race, find Hecuba again in the field of mourning, and this time Melinoe will have a choice. feed Hecuba. Give the faithful dog the Witch's Delight, and he will join Melinoe as usual.
